It stars Iko Uwais, the Indonesian actor who’s one of the biggest names in martial arts, with hits including the movies “The Raid” and “The Raid 2”. If you enjoy the series, there’s also a sequel movie that goes with it called “Fistful of Vengeance”. Wu Assassins is a Netflix original and should be available in every region.
6. Kill Boksoon
This film follows a contract killer who leads a double life, that of a single mom and that of a renowned assassin. “Kill Boksoon” is a Korean martial arts action film loaded with awesome set pieces and great fights, making for a fun, over-the-top thrill ride. There’s also a great dynamic between the characters in the film, and overall, it’s a very solid watch. There are more and more good martial arts films coming out of Korea these days, and right now this is one of the best. “Kill Boksoon” should be available in every region.
5. Avengement
This movie is about a man who is sent to prison where he is constantly attacked and slowly evolves into a cold-blooded killer. But when he’s finally able to escape, he sets out to get revenge on the people who got him put away in the first place. “Avengement” stars underrated action star Scott Adkins in one of his best roles ever and is one of the most violent, brutal movies you will find on this list. The film is all about intense and bloody fights, and if you’re into that kind of thing, “Avengement” will not leave you disappointed. You can find it in most regions, including the US, UK, Canada, Germany, and more.
4. Furie
In this film, a former gangster turned mother must unleash her lethal skills when her daughter is kidnapped by human traffickers. “Furie” comes out of Vietnam and masterfully blends intense action sequences with quieter, heartfelt moments. It’s also a commentary on the harsh realities of human trafficking. But most importantly, it’s a very sad watch for fans of martial arts. You definitely don’t want to miss it, and if you enjoy it, you’ll be happy to know there’s also a prequel film called “Furies”. Not to be confused with the recently released French series also called “Furies”, “Furie” is a Netflix original and should be available everywhere.
3. The Night Comes for Us
When an elite assassin decides to turn his back on a life of crime in order to rescue a young girl, an army of gangsters is sent to take him and the girl out. “The Night Comes for Us” is one of the bloodiest movies on this very bloody list, with some of the most stylish and gory fight scenes of any movie in recent memory. But it’s not only about the blood; it’s also just an overall thrilling movie with epic martial arts fights that will have your heart pounding from beginning to end. It’s another movie starring Iko Uwais and probably his best since “The Raid”. “The Night Comes for Us” is available in every region on Netflix.
2. Cobra Kai
The series reignites the rivalry between Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence from the iconic Karate Kid films as they reopen the infamous Cobra Kai Karate Dojo. “Cobra Kai”, which is currently awaiting its sixth season, blends comedy with exhilarating martial arts action, striking a perfect balance between homage and innovation. If you haven’t seen it, it’s probably a lot more entertaining than Unix. It’s definitely a must-see for any martial arts fan with a nice long series with lots of episodes. It’s also great for binge-watching, and luckily, it’s a Netflix original too, so you should be able to watch it everywhere.
1. Warrior
It follows Ah Sahm, a martial arts prodigy from China who immigrated to San Francisco in the late 1800s and finds himself caught in the brutal Chinatown tongs. “Warrior” is an action-packed series that blends historical drama with martial arts spectacle and is based on an original concept by the late actor Bruce Lee. It originally aired on Cinemax and HBO Max, so it’s lucky to even be on Netflix. Unfortunately, since it’s licensed, there’s no telling how long it will stay on Netflix. It is not available in every region, but hopefully, it will continue to show up in more countries.
